8 Signs You’re Still in the Honeymoon Phase

The honeymoon phase. We’ve all heard this term before, but what does it really mean? Is it really all butterflies, rainbows, and smiles? You betcha �� Find out if you and that special someone in your life are in the so-called ‘honeymoon phase’.

1. You Never Fight

A fight? Who could get into an argument when there’s so much absolute happiness and nonstop hugging and smiling? That’s right. When you’re in the honeymoon phase, you’re not fighting with each other. The only argument you’re limited to is the dreaded “No, I love YOU more”, and let’s just be real- that’s not really a fight!

2. You’re Always Talking

When you’re in this beloved phase, you simply can’t get enough of each other. Whether you’re face to face talking or calling each other on the phone, the communication never ceases. Even when you’re in class or stuck at work, the text messages continue to immense. You’ll stay up till odd hours of the night just so you can chat with your lover, even if it means limiting yourself to 3 or 4 hours of sleep a night. Who needs sleep when the love of your life is on the other line?

3. You’re Always Touching

Not getting enough of each other doesn’t just stop at communicating; it’s the touching, too. Every time you see your partner you can’t help yourself but to grab their hand. The two of you are constantly wrapping your arms around each other in cutesy hugs, and long embraces that the Hulk couldn’t even break apart. Your lovers lips are addictive, and you’re drawn to them every other second of the day. If you can’t seem to get your hands off your lover, then this is a definite sign you’re still in the honeymoon phase.

4. So. Much. Sweetness.

When you get comfortable in a relationship, sometimes the compliments and niceness slack a little bit. You’re not drenching your partner in compliments about their new hairstyle and you’re not consistently reassuring them they’re the best person in the whole wide world. But this isn’t true for the couple that’s still in the honeymoon phase. Their sweetness is gnawing to those around them, but they don’t care. They’ll keep complimenting each other and being as NICE as humanly possible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Not even a somewhat hurtful joke slips from the tongue, and even that new plain red t-shirt doesn’t pass the eyes of your partner without a compliment.

5. It’s Still Steamy in the Bedroom

The fire in the bedroom tends to fizzle after several years in a relationship, but when you’re in the honeymoon phase, the two of you can’t seem to get enough! One clear and definite sign you’re still in the honeymoon phase is if things are still hot and spicy in the bedroom. You’re having ‘IT’ all the time and you’re trying new things on each other every other night. It seems like it gets better every time you do it- whether you’re in the bedroom or not ;)!

6. Always Laughing and Smiling

Remember that really crumby joke your partner told you earlier? You know, the one that made you bust out laughing even though others wouldn’t even slightly chuckle? I don’t know why, but when you’re in the honeymoon phase with your lover, everything they say is funny. Every time you look at them, you smile. There’s a constant stream of laughter, giggles, and smiles, that simply can’t be turned off.

7. You Don’t Get Annoyed

Whether it’s your little brother, your mother, your best friend, or your significant other, being around someone too often can get a little annoying. Those cute things they used to do suddenly makes you cringe and you just want them to STOP. Well, when you’re in the honeymoon phase, that simply doesn’t happen. Things that MAY annoy you several months or years from now are still the cutest things ever and you can’t get enough of them. Seriously, they could be doing or saying THE most annoying thing on the planet, and you won’t even blink an eye. You will still look at them with so much happiness and love, while anyone else would be hiding with their head under a pillow.

8. You Always Look Your Best

You always wear your best clothing- never those sweatpants with the grease stain on them. You try and have you hair at least swept somewhat nicely, and (for the ladies) you prefer them to see you with your makeup. Your apartment is absolutely spotless; so is car. You want everything to look perfect for your lover. I’m not saying people OUT of the honeymoon phase don’t keep their things nice and stay looking gorgeous 24/7, but it’s a lot more common for those in this phase.
