From Rose Gold Eyeshadow to Brushed-Back Hair: 24 of the Best Celebrity Beauty Looks Lately

Do we all agree? This week's most standout hair and makeup happened at the Cannes amfAR Gala—which we've talked about in-depth over here. I've included a few of my faves, along with the best beauty that was happening on red carpets elsewhere lately, such as Emmanuelle Chriqui's rose gold glowiness, G. Hannelius' adorable top knot and much more!

These were the best celebrity beauty looks this week:

Emmanuelle Chriqui

I might be biased because I got to meet Emmanuelle (TWICE!) and she is just the sweetest. (Read more about that here.) I think she did really well with this sleek, glowy evening look. Her face shape and features are flattered by the tight-to-the-head, minimalistic hairstyle. But mostly, I love the rose gold eyeshadow all over the lids and underneath the lower lashlines. It's super-pretty with her golden skin and the pink blush, although I'd probably just do gloss instead of the lipstick/liner. Lashes are relatively low-key, and the tightlining makes her eyes pop.

Victoria Justice

I don't like the lashes, but otherwise, Victoria looks SO glamorous and sophisticated in this brushed-back hairstyle, which has height at the top but is close to the head on the sides. (We saw a wetter-looking version recently on Kendall Jenner.) She does err on the side of heavier foundation and lip colour, but I can't fault the colour palette of muted pinks.

G. Hannelius

I love this look for the ballerina-esque top knot and G.'s fresh skin and natural makeup. (Well, of course her skin is fresh. She's 16!) All she needs is a bit of lash action and the pink lipstick, which is a cross between a fuchsia and a berry. Very complementary with her green dress, which is Anthropologie!

Rachel McAdams

So rare that we get to see Rachel! She's back on the red carpet with a new bobbed length. Very cute, although I don't like the texture or colour; I prefer her with a rich glossy brown. The starring attraction is her fuchsia gloss, which is CK One—maybe Scandal? Brows are looking fuller than ever. Notice the total absence of tweezing on the top. It's okay to have softness there now!

Sienna Miller

Sienna's final Cannes look escaped the earlier round-up, so we'll talk about it here. It's very “Sienna,” but I really feel the hair is a little too casual. Also, what's up with the muddy cheeks, Charlotte Tilbury? Not cool. Aside from those issues (and the ever-present lip liner), the shimmery shadow and matching lipstick are pretty. They're Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chamelon in Dark Pearl and K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Penelope Pink.

Laetitia Casta

Laetitia's another celeb I've had the chance to interview through here this beauty gig, and she is even more beautiful in person. She recently cut her hair short, but it's still impossibly voluminous, OMG. Makeup is all tawny brownish tones, but not at all muddy like Sienna. I adore the little black “V's” at the edges of her eyes, and her brushed-up, almost wet-looking brows.

Britt Robertson

Britt is too cute, and has some seriously youthful genes—can you believe she's 25? Baby faces look best when you don't pile on the makeup, so she got it right this time, with sheer warm golden lip gloss and eyeshadow, natural brows and mascara'd lashes. I like the absence of earrings, too.

Maria Menounos

I didn't love Maria's makeup from the front view, but I definitely found her hair to be post-worthy from this side angle. The braid along one side that joins into the bun is very impressive, and with the new reddish hues in her brown hair, it really pops. Now, if only we could get her to wear more natural makeup to match. (It's always a disconnect for me when celebs wear heavy base with such Boho hair.)

Alexandra Daddario

You guys. How are we gonna get the message out to Alexandra that she doesn't need to wear those false lashes?! They are truly terrible (so heavy, black and distracting)—and yet, I had to include her here because everything else is so great. Her eyes are insane with the precise red mouth, and what I wouldn't give for skin like hers! She's a newbie, so hopefully she'll get a better styling team soon.

Emma Stone

Meanwhile, Emma has a top-notch styling team… and yet, I think she can do a bit better than this, too. Don't get me wrong, I like her beachy red lob and the general colour palette of the makeup. I'm just not sure about the lip over-drawing. And I thought she was better than false lashes, but here they are, cropping up again.

Dianna Agron

Oh wow, I LOVE Dianna's hair here. The volume and the big wave on the one side are kinda early '90s supermodel, like Cindy Crawford back in the day, just a shorter length. Makeup is on point, too, with smoky eyes, black waterlines, peachy cheeks and sheerish lip gloss.

Cara Delevingne

Another day, another Cara photo. She looks like she didn't really try here, but of course, Cara's “not trying” is very different from when you and I do it. Hair's a bit limp and blah (for her), but she's wearing the heck out of that greyish brown eyeshadow. I especially like how it's all monotone, except for the highlights at the inner corners.

Rose Byrne

It's always a joy to see Rose, because I feel like she styles herself the way most women want to look. She didn't need the lashes, but I can forgive that part because you notice the rich pink lips and rosy cheeks more. This might be her Life Cut and Colour. Does anyone look better in a brunette bob than Rose? I think not.

Elisabeth Moss

Nice work, Elisabeth! Sometimes she goes way too edgy on the red carpet and it feels “off,” but this pretty, springy, feminine look is totally working. The blonde hair colour and makeup palette are flattering to her skin tone, and she really doesn't need a lot of makeup. I'm loving all the shimmer we're seeing on celebs' inner corners. Is everyone onto Living Luminizer?

Kylie Minogue

Kylie is STILL a knockout. She was one of the first celebs I looked to that had this not-quite-blonde, not-quite-brunette hair colour (a.k.a. “bronde”), and it's as flattering on her as ever. Skin looks possibly a bit dry, and I probably wouldn't have done the tightlining, but overall? Stunning.

Bella Thorne

Bella didn't stray much from her usual shimmery eyes-pinky lips look, but this is really, really pretty. What I like most are her eyelids, which are half champagne, half taupe. The lipstick is nicely restrained, and her red hair looks amazing all loose like this. But, R.I.P. red hair. According to her Instagram, she's now a blonde.

Debby Ryan

Somebody get Debby some deep conditioner, stat! Her hair's been dyed so many colours as of late, no wonder it's becoming dry and fried. If you can get past that (and the lashes), this is pretty in a quirky way. I love her full cheeks which look like they're flushing from within (and with a smattering of freckles).

Pink

Haven't seen Pink in forever, but she's still rocking the heck out of her short, platinum hair. It definitely suits her, and seems to take some of the redness out of her pink-toned skin. Makeup is super-simple (especially for a pop star), with just a bit of liner, mascara, bronzed cheeks and nude lipstick.

Charli XCX

It's no surprise that Charli was a favourite of mine from amfAR, and it's because of her luminous skin, creamy red lips, lush straight hair and modern smoky eyes. Her best red carpet look so far, but hopefully we get to see much more from her!

Zoë Kravitz

Another ultra-gorgeous red lipstick outta Cannes was Zoë's, which she paired with braids, freckles, eyebrow fans and a dot of liner under each eye. By the way, this hair is gone now—according to her Instagram, she's another one who just hopped on the bob train.

Diane Kruger

I also thought this Cannes event was one of Diane's best beauty showings ever. She always looks best with her hair worn down and straight-ish, and this makeup is perfect for the dress. So great to see her with full dark brows, baby cat eyes and a deeper berry-brown gloss.

Joan Smalls

How can this one not be a favourite? Joan reached her red carpet pinnacle at amfAR in this mega-bright red lipstick, paired with impossibly radiant skin. Alas, for those of you wondering, I don't think we're gonna find out what the shade name is. Joan is a face of Estée Lauder, and since her makeup artist didn't answer questions about the colour, I think they're not allowed to mention non-Estée prods. Damn!

Adriana Lima

When we talk about beauty inspiration, it's almost hard to use Adriana as an example, because she is just so ridiculously good-looking that to copy her is next to impossible. But credit is definitely due for this amfAR pairing of long, luscious hair with tanned skin, smoked-out liner and matte peach lips. Still dying over this one!

Kendall Jenner

Kendall gets another mention this week, because her amfAR makeup was pretty to the max. This is totally a beach vacation glow. I love her dark eyes, brows and lashes with the glowy skin and peach lips and blush.
