Golden Globes 2014: Emma Roberts’ Nude Lips and Neutral Eyes

As I said on Twitter a couple times in the last 24 hours, all the Emmas are usually pretty perfect. Emma Roberts is one of my three Emma beauty crushes, and definitely one of my faves at the Golden Globes last night. Loved the earrings, the tight-to-the-head hair, the nude lips and the long lashes.

Inspired by Emma's glam Old Hollywood-style dress, makeup artist Dawn Broussard decided to keep the focus on the eyes and her flawless skin. And she means seriously flawless, as you can see in this close-up:

To prep the skin, Dawn used Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Oil-Free Cleansing Wipes:

Then she applied Neutrogena Healthy Skin Primer, dabbing off any excess with a tissue.

The foundation is Neutrogena Nourishing Long Wear Makeup in Natural Ivory. Dawn applied it using her fingertips, which she says helps create a seamless look.

To subtly illuminate Emma's skin, Dawn used Neutrogena Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector in Fair underneath the eyes, on the chin and on the bridge of nose.

For a slight contour, Dawn swept Neutrogena Healthy Skin Blends Natural Radiance Bronzer in Pure across the cheekbones and around structure of the face.

To complete the complexion finish, she used Neutrogena Shine Control Powder to mattify the T-zone.

To create the stunning, sultry eyes, Dawn started with Neutrogena Crease Proof Eye Shadow in Stay Put-Plum, blending it across the upper eyelids for a sheer, smoky effect.

“In her crease and below the lash line I used Neutrogena Crease Proof Eye Shadow in Lasting Taupe; the colour creates slight depth without overpowering it,” says Dawn.

The highlight at the inner corners and along the brown bone is Neutrogena Crease Proof Eye Shadow in Stay Golden.

“I like to really get in between each lash, which will create a gorgeous full lash without having to add any falsies,” says Dawn. A woman after my own heart—I 100 percent believe in doing this, too. She applied Neutrogena Nourishing Eye Liner in Cosmic Black in the waterline and into the upper lash line.

Lashes got dressed up with Neutrogena Healthy Lengths Mascara in Carbon Black, brushed out slightly with a lash comb for a smooth effect. “I like to always apply two coats, waiting a minute in between applications,” says Dawn. “This is a great way to build the product yet avoiding any unwanted clumping or excess.”

To keep the lips soft and natural, Dawn used the Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Stick in Fresh Papaya.

Here's how it all came together—I know her eyes are half closed, but you can really appreciate the drama of the eyes and earrings with the simplicity of the hair and the dress.

Oh, and stars—they're just like us! Because Emma uses the Neutrogena Make-Up Remover Cleansing Towelettes to cleanse her face at the end of the night. She also eats burgers.
