Superhero Tattoos: Our Favorite Superhero Tattoos!
Who is your favorite superhero? We have superhero tattoos for almost everyone: Batman, Wonder-Woman, Spider-Man. See if we have your fav!
We live in an age of superhero worship. The classics, like Captain America and Superman, have been revived time and time again, but now with the big budget movies and the new generations joining the fandoms, the impact that superheros have on our lives is ubiquitous. You can’t hardly walk down the street without running into someone wearing a Batman shirt or with an Avengers decal on their car. The old comic books have pervaded our TVs, with shows like Daredevil, Flash, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Our big screens are blowing up with new movies coming out constantly, some focused on individual heroes like Ironman or Deadpool and some with entire groups of heroes like the Avengers movies. With this growing influence, it is no surprise that superhero tattoos have been on the rise. We connect with these heroes because we look up to them. Each one has something we admire, even though they also have their faults. Hulk is strong and powerful, but also angry. I can identify with that. Spider-man is agile and fun, but also a haunted soul, because of him his Uncle Ben was killed. His arrogance did that. Even the X-Men each suffer from their own inner turmoils, which is why we like them. Despite their powers, they are still just like us in many ways.
Superhero tattoos are a way for us to show how much we admire certain heroes, whether that be their virtues, their morals, or simply just their image. We want people to know that we are Wonder Woman fans or that Wolverine is a really interesting character to us. In this way we are able to draw others with the same interests and debate freely about the characters we so admire. Superhero tattoos are superhero swag for the skin!
My Favorite Superhero Tattoos:
The Thing
The Thing might not be the first hero to come to mind when some one says “superhero”, however, there is no denying this amazing Fantastic Four inspired tattoo.
Claw Shoots
The most memorable aspect of Wolverine is a toss up between his hair and those amazing claws. This simple tattoo features the ports where the claws would shoot from the skin, if, of course, this dude was packing and adamantium skeleton. Who knows, he may still have really cool hair.

Stands for Hope
You will find that most superhero tattoos will feature the ‘top 3’ major superheroes. Those would be, in no particular order, Superman (my favorite), Spider-man and Batman. This wonderful piece features the super seal with a draped over watercolor cape. Awesome!
What a Woman
As far as female superheroes go, none stand out as much as fellow Justice Leaguer Wonder Woman. This tattoo is a wonderful rendition of the powerful lady in all her glory.
Mean Green
Amphibious reptiles may not be your top choice when it comes to superhero tattoos, but this Raphael tattoo comes off nicely. I love the fact that the red is the only color, it really pops! However, Raph is a sai guy, not swords (thats Leonardo, duh.)
Why Do We Fall?
Some of the more memorable quotes from the movies and comics can easily be incorporated into superhero tattoos, much like this little bit from the Dark Knight franchise.
Big 3
Merc with a Mouth
The vibrant color and pure sass captured in this tattoo is simply awesome. They took Deadpool to a whole new level here, breaking the fourth wall as he is known to do. What a fun piece!
The Captain
Justice League Leg (almost)
Pssssst!! One of these things doesn’t belong…..Care to take a guess?
Hulk Smash
Who says superhero tattoos have to be serious? This little Hulk cracks me up. Sure, sure, he’s mad. We get it. But just look at him!!! Dwarf Hulk may be my new favorite thing.
Bat Puzzle Superhero Tattoo
Double Agent
The popularity of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on TV simply can’t be denied. To take the emblems of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra and put them together into one tattoo is pretty awesome. The good and bad are displayed in a symbol of duality.
Rogue Queen
As a little girl, Rogue was always my favorite so, of course, she had to be included in the superhero tattoos post. I love the classic colors of this one, coupled with the pink background. While I think they may have over-endowed the poor girl, I still really do love this one.
Justice for All
I love the concept of this tattoo, but the execution could use some work. What’s up with Supe’s face??
Arm of (A)Vengence
A better way to capture the entire team in one of the superhero tattoos would be to simply add their most prominent symbol, as displayed here on this cool black arm piece. It is simple but gets the point across nicely.
High Speed
The colors here are simply FANTASTIC. Flash is a great superhero and until recently, with the creation of his own show, he had been a bit underrated. Here he is in full Flash fashion, racing to the rescue. Superhero tattoos like this are the reason people keep getting them. This is one of the best pieces I’ve seen.
Spidey Skin Superhero Tattoos
We are Groot
Okay, okay, okay, so Guardians of the Galaxy may not be your typical superheros, but how can you go wrong with a monosyllabic tree giant and a mouthy trash panda? Add to the the awesome musical taste of StarLord and you’ve got a winning combination as far as superhero tattoos go.
Devilish Deadpool
Hawkeye in the Sky
Cosmic Bat
He’s Watching You
The Watchmen is another group of supers who may or may not fall strictly on the hero side. I do love this low color rendition of Rorschach and his smiley face button. If you aren’t sure of the reference, I suggest you grab one of these comics and get to reading.
X-Man
Red Dead Superhero Tattoos
Bolted
4. Claws Deep
Ka-Pow
Superhero tattoos have the most impact when utilized right. This piece does it all right all the time! Th colors are awesome and the 3D effect of the fist emerging from Supe’s arm is surprisingly fun. Well done!
