The Best Cuts to Reduce Volume at Your Ends

Q: Hi, I am Mansi, from India. I got a really short cut six months ago. Prior to the haircut, I had very long hair. It is curly and tends to get dry and frizzy at the middle and the ends. When I got my hair cut, it added a lot of volume to the ends.
I'm not sure what cut I should get to reduce the volume, but at the same time I don't want to cut it too short. I have a long face. Can you suggest a haircut that would suit my face and hair type? — Mansi
A: Mansi, I think your hair is gorgeous…
Moving your part more to the centre will work well with a long face:
It will balance out how much forehead that is exposed. I love your hair texture at a longer length as well (although it is very pretty as is).
Although these images are not your colour or correct texture, they are good examples of shapes:
Taking weight out of the ends will decrease the weight at the bottom of your hair, and this could be done at most lengths.
Here is another example of the same idea, but with a bit more layering so you can add more lift at your part:
I really like this cut for your natural texture, it distributes the weight and keeps the length:
When styling any of these shapes and lengths, use a molding paste to keep any frizz under control. Natural drying will be your best bet when using the paste.
I like KMS California Hair Play Molding Paste:
Hope this helps!
